2009 Korean Government Scholarship Program for Graduate Students

The South Korean government provides graduate scholarships for international students (including Korean adoptees) to conduct advanced studies at graduate schools in South Korea in order to promote mutual friendship between countries and to improve one’s understanding of South Korea. If you desire to apply for this scholarship, please inform InKAS through e-mail in order to receive a recommendation letter from InKAS. Then, submit the application form with the required documents to the Korean Embassy or Consulate in your country. Completed direction to the application process will be posted on the NIIED website.

1. Academic Programs & Institutions
  1. Academic degree program: Master’s degree and Doctoral degree (Ph.D.)
  2. Institutions: all graduate schools in South Korea
    ※for those who are entering a specific field of studies, such as MBA, international studies, medical, dental, and law schools, each applicant must receive a separate permission from NIIED.
  3. Applicants who will major in science and engineering will be preferred candidates in the selection pool.
2. Scholarship Duration
  • Master's course:3 years (1 year of Korean language course & 2 years of master's course)
  • Doctoral course: 4 years (1 year of Korean language course & 3 years of doctoral course)
